I have done so many variations of cliffs I think I'll jump off one very soon

I got this crazy idea to shoot for a Link to The Past perspective for cliffs, because I don't see it often and I hoped it would help Gumdrop Galaxy stand out in a space where a lot of talented artists are working.

A lot of artists I've heard from dislike them because they're really cheating on what a 3/4 perspective would look like.  You're never going to see the foot of a hell o both sides unless you're directly above it.

The heart of my problem was my desire to cover every possible size and shape of cliff or hill.  It's very difficult to account for and by the time I'd worked out the geometry of a fully flexible design I realized nobody would ever figure out how to use it properly. Anyway.  I'm probably going back to these designs, but shooting for 24x24 and doing a 'step' in between one or two cliff heights. 

In any case here's some of the cliffs I worked on over the summer and something new that shows the direction I want to take it now (slightly less of a pile of rocks I guess) but the detail on the last image is too high to match the rest of my work.
