I know its been a while.  Wish I had a tileset ready for y'all by now.

Consider these cobblestone auto-tiles a peace offering.

About the images :  The wood walls and little mud hills are built from a Zelda's Bastard template which is basically what would happen if Zelda's hills were also its dungeon walls.  I think I'm still open to using these, especially for indoors, but overall I'm not going to obsess over perfectly flexible designs.

The desert image may look out of place. Hopefully its far along enough to show potential, because its part of my latest approach to designing Gumdrop's look.  It's the result liberating myself from the existing color palette.  This allows some pixel-painting of reference photos, which I can then analyze for tile potential and create a set from.  I'm so down for the idea of reference photos I'll be taking a break this morning to explore a nearby hiking trail.
