This page is hungry for ratings! Especially when you can't spare the money for a tip, give them a rating. It should go a long way for new & small creators.

Here's my 2020 character template:

8 frames walk  x 4 directions

6 frames idle    x 4 directions

~ Within the .aseprite there is a science fiction outfit to use if you can salvage it

If you're adding new animations to the template, be aware of the low perspective, which makes this template best suited  genres which don't need vertical melee animations. RPGs with classic JRPG battles are a good example, and so are beat'em ups.

Nice assets. is it cool to use/modify for commercial use

Yes, it's now  under  Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.   And it's unlikely this matters but I'd like to add that even modified versions shouldn't be used for NFT content or promotion.

Very nice to see a 4d character that isn't just an HFlip. :)  Are there any other animations for your template, I hope?  This looks great as-is, and I am sure I can use it, I just think it would be even more fun if he could do more.

So glad someone has a use for it.  Glad the lighting was appreciated. If you drill down into the .aseprite you'll find a better example in the white helmets. and possibly an eastward attacking animation.

Re: more actions. That was the plan when this was my main project. But in the process of doing attack animations  I could see the perspective is too low to put him in a top-down action game.

Most meaningful animations would need to be strictly horizontal for this reason.

To fix perspective I started a new template.  I want this new template + protagonist at version 1.1 and pulling in some actual money before I return to this.   Would you DM me on twitter   ? I'm willing to part with some of the unreleased stuff in exchange for feedback.
